Our special thanks to Diane Alveshere and Barb Grover for their leadership in bringing this Christmas Musical to you this morning. And very special thanks to all those who shared their unique musical talents.
Our “Tree of Lights” this year is designated by our Missions Committee for the “Study Skills” program. Funding for this program is through United Way and creates a safety net to encourage 9th grade students in District 206 to remain in school and graduate rather than dropping out due to poor grades or troubles at home. A gift of $25 buys a light on the tree, and donations are open until January 4th. To date, we have received $525. Thank you for your generosity.
Today following the special Musical Program, our CE Board invites everyone to join in a Christmas potluck downstairs in the fellowship hall on the lower level. After the meal, they will be visiting our shut-ins with Christmas caroling. Everyone is invited to join in singing and bringing some Christmas cheer.
Newsletter items for the January, 2015, VISITOR are due in the Church office tomorrow morning, Monday, December 22nd. Thank you! -Barb, Church office
A New Venture, “Local Harvest Market,” is using our Church as a local drop site for food and produce. Dates for pickup are scheduled for every other Thursday: January 8th & 22nd; February 5th & 19th; and March 5th and 19th, from 3-6 pm. Their website is available for on-line ordering. Please see the East bulletin board for more information or if you have any questions, please see Ron Branch.
Our Angels responsible for visiting and delivering blankets to those hospitalized or grieving in December are Judy Kuhlmann (763-6033) and Kathy Midtvedt (762-2737). Thank you, Angels.
We’re Serving Christmas Dinner again, thanks to the leadership of the Clark family! Are your plans finally definite? It’s not too late to look for where we need you, for this is the week we actually get down to business, making salads & desserts, and setting up the dining room. We can use you! It is our 22nd year of doing this! Someone can fill you in on the “how tos.” Serving is from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Christmas Day. You can even call Annie or Jay Clark at 491-9404, if you have questions or special needs. This is the most special birthday party of all! It is Christ’s birthday we will be celebrating and sharing with our community with love.
-Kathryn LeBrasseur, Publicity

Remembrance Sunday: The first Sunday in January of each year has been traditionally a time when we remember those of our Church family who are no longer with us. On Sunday, January 4, during the regular worship service, we will be honoring the memory of 8 of those members and friends and we will show their picture on the screen. A chime will sound and a votive candle will be lit. We offer this special service as a ministry to the families, with a prayer that it will bring them a sense of peace and closure at a time of the year that can be difficult.
