Big Thank Yous Continue for Our Drama Team! We have already begun the journey through Lent to Easter, and the drama team has added helpful insights into the lives of those who loved and followed Jesus.  Julie Hjelm was Mary Magdalene; Jon Hall was the disciple Matthew; Ron Branch was John;  LaDonna Anderson was Mary of Bethany; Stuart Henrickson was Judas last Sunday; and Rev. Steve Johnson is portraying Pontius Pilate today.  We’re calling the series “People of the Passion,” and each Sunday through Lent a different person will be portrayed.  Why not invite a friend or neighbour to experience worship through Easter!  A big thanks to Barb Grover for creatively leading this drama project.

Join Our Spiritual Yoga Classes!   Regular weekly class schedules for low-impact “Beginning Yoga” for men and women are now in progress through Friday, April 25th.  Sessions are on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1:00 – 2:00.  Please contact Daisy Stahlberg (763-9461) if you have any questions.-Board of Spiritual Life

“Mindfulness”- Our Theme in Lent
“The quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.”

Daisy Stahlberg and the Spiritual Life Board, with assistance from several outside our Church, have created a wonderfully eclectic list of mid-week offerings that will surely stimulate the hearts and minds of members and visitors alike!  Each Wednesday has begun with a soup and sandwich meal, and a different topic is explored following supper.  We’ve had a conversation about Global Warming; tried some low-impact Yoga for beginners; and participated in a live video conference with the Pastor of “Shift” UCC.  Our final event will be this Wednesday, April 9th.   Pastor Scott and Jon Hall will lead a Biblical journey by exploring the passages which point to Jesus’ spiritual disciplines and practices. Participants may want to bring a notebook, pencil, and your favourite version of the Bible.  Our Music Committee will be our hosts for the light meal.  All are welcome!!

Easter is Coming! Have you thought about who you might invite to Church this Easter? There will be an Easter Cantata, another one of our wonderful dramas and we will be receiving new members!  It will be a day filled with music and joy!-Lenten/Easter Planning Team

Notice to All Committee Chairs:  I am in the process of preparing the booklet for our  Annual Programmatic Meeting.  There are still a few reports outstanding.  If you intend to provide a report, please send it or let me know to be looking for it.  Time is running out!  If you need a copy of last year’s report, just let me know.  Thanks!!-Barb, office

Our Angels responsible for visiting and delivering blankets to those hospitalized or grieving in April are Ceil Campbell (763-5886) and Celesta Podolske (763-3079).  Thank you, Angels.

Please Help Us Update Our E-mail List!!  We are diligently making a big effort to get e-mail addresses from as many of our Church members and friends as we possibly can.  Please, if you have not given the Church your e-mail address, consider providing it now.  It’s a fast, efficient, and inexpensive communication tool to let you know what’s happening in the life of the Church and saves a lot of postage and telephoning time.  Thanks!!!-Barb, Church office

“Silver Plate Catering:” There are some packets of information available on the back table featuring a service called “Silver Plate Catering.”  Tom Knutson, a former chef at Nelson Gables, has started his own business of catering fresh/never frozen meals for noon or evening each day.  Included in the packet is a menu and price guide.  He will deliver the meals!  Truly worth checking into if you have a need for good nutrition!-Kathryn LeBrasseur
