Dear Loved Church Members:

Dear Loved Church Members:
“Words can’t express our gratitude for the love and care you gave Mom during her battle with cancer. In the beginning, many of you helped with rides, trips for food, or trips for medicine. Many of you gave your precious time to sit with Mom and keep her positive. This care continued as she moved to Nelson Gables and then Knute Nelson. Each moment you spent with her – even the ones where you only stopped in for a few minutes – showed her and us how much you cared. For that and all your love, we will be forever grateful. You helped her, and you helped us. Thank you!”
-Annie, Mamie, Nina, Alia, Jay, and the rest of the Michaelson family

2013 bazaar

Plans are in the works for the 2013 bazaar. Wilma Carlson has once again generously donated a quilt for our raffle and the committee chairs are getting in gear, but we need everyone’s help!! There will be sign-up sheets in the back of the Church for the various committees, salads, etc. Be thinking about all the ways you can help and join in the fun of a “Walk Down Memory Lane.”

Annual Pancake Breakfast

Hey, everyone!  Remember to bring your holiday guests to our Annual Pancake Breakfast on Memorial Day Monday, coming up on May 27.  Serving will be from 9:00 am until noon.  Pancakes are all you can eat, and there will also be sausage, juice, coffee, milk and fruit cup.  Adults are $6, kids ages 4-10 are $3, and toddlers are free.  It will be a great meal that you don’t hafta prepare or clean up after!!!   We’re right next to the parade route, so stop for breakfast and then take the gang to the parade.

Easter Sunday Events
The Christian Education Board invites you to join us for Continental breakfast on Easter morning.
Breakfast will be available starting at 9:00 am and be set up in the CAMBRIDGE Room.
The CE board will be providing all the treats for breakfast

However, we are asking that our Church family provide baked goods that are packaged ready to sell
for a fundraiser that we are putting together:
“DOUSING THE FLAMES OF LOSS AND DESTRUCTION WITH LOVE AND SUPPORT.”
On Easter morning during breakfast and after the worship service we will host a bake sale. All items will be “sold” for a donation. The donations will be given to John and David who lost their home to a devastating fire on Wednesday.

Coffee and fellowship are also planned for after Easter worship service.
Thank you for your support and Easter blessings to you all. -Pam Schauff and the CE Board

COMMUNITY EVENTS

United Communities Advocating Non-Violence (UCAN)
is “kicking off” the White Ribbon Campaign in Alexandria and Douglas County.  It is an effort to get community members, especially men and boys, to take the following pledge:   “I pledge never to commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women and children.”  UCAN is asking people to wear the ribbon during the month of March as a public statement of your support.  Please see Susan or Pastor Scott for more details.
