This morning we welcome Vicki Bump, Volunteer Director for the Douglas County Outreach Food Shelf. They started operations in July, 1982, and they are currently located at 1205 Lake Street in a building 96’ x 24’. In October, 2007, the ATCC students built a 24’x 36’ garage on site for storage. Staffed totally by volunteers, some have served for 20 years. As a rule, the Outreach Food Shelf serves 20-22 families a day. They are open 5 days a week and welcome visitors.
We are pleased to present Vicki with our Church check from the donations received at our Community Christmas Day Dinner in the amount of $1,150.01 along with some additional checks, for a total of $1,200.01.
Our Missions Committee has designated our Bountiful Basket collection for the months of February and March to benefit our local Outreach Food Shelf. Donations of cash or non-perishable items will be greatly appre-ciated by many in our own community. Thank you for caring.–Missions Committee
The Angel Care Committee will hold a re-organizational meeting tomorrow, Monday, March 23rd, at 10:30 am. Contact Daisy Stahlberg at 763-9461.
Our Lenten Series continues on Wednesday.
Everyone is invited to join us for a light meal at 5:30 pm which is hosted this week by our Missions Committee. The program will follow from 6:00-7:00 entitled, “What does my faith tell me to do?” Joanne Sylvander and members of her church’s Immigration Team will share their work on issues that reflect how we live and act in support of humane com-prehensive immigration reform to restore integrity to the U.S. tradition of welcoming immigrants. Come learn with us. Every one is invited. -Board of Spiritual Life
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday. Our Youth and Confirmation Students will be leading our worship service under the direction of Katy Mohabir and Pastor Scott. You, as the Congregation, will even have a part. We have an amazing group of young people in our congregation who are excited to practice their leadership skills in this special setting. Our Church choir will be involved and Margaret Kalina will be our organist. Come be a part of this special Palm Sunday Worship.
2015 Offering Envelopes: Boxes of offering envelopes for 2015 are available at the back of the sanctuary. Please sign your name on the line next to the number of the box that you take. Thank you.
Our Angels responsible for visiting and delivering blankets to those hospitalized or grieving in March are Ceil Campbell (763-5886) and Celesta Podolske (763-3079). Thank you, Angels. If you know of someone in the congregation who could use a caring visit, please contact one of the Angels named above.
Be a U-stream Sponsor. As of March 1st we have had more than 1,700 people view us on U-stream, our internet TV channel. We also have 17 regular followers who watch as well—snowbirds and homebound members who can’t get to worship, but wish to stay connected to the Church they love. The cost to us as a Church for this service is $99 monthly, roughly $25 per Sunday. There is enough money left in the “Enhanced Worship Fund” to guarantee 10 more months of broadcasts. Therefore, the Board of Administration is asking for your support. If you would like to underwrite a weekly broadcast in honor or memory of a loved one at $25, or for a month or more of broadcasts at a higher level, please contact Barb in the Church office. Board of Admin.
Notice to all Committees: Please prepare and submit your annual reports for the upcoming Programmatic Meeting to be held in May. Reports would be appreciated in the Church office by April 1st. Thank you. If you would like a copy of your previous year’s report, please just call the Church office. Thanks.-Barb, Church office
